Android GURPS character generator

Yeah, I've been thinking much the same thing about an iPad/iPhone one, which at this point I'm starting to break out XCode and see if I could manage it myself.

So, AFAIK, The answer for Android is the same - when someone makes one.

Yeah, I figured as much. I'm just bringing awareness to the fact that many people can agree that a character generator for smartphones would be ultra awesome, perhaps some genius developer would even find potential in such a project.

Also it's so good I figured it was possible that it already existed. I wanted to know for sure.

You could always test it on a Moto Quench too. Let's settle there. ;-D It's not like we could use a Honeycomb app on smartphones anyway.

Well a free one I cant complain about, but I consider smart phones too small to be of use.

I REALLY think we should aim for an official MacOS one before we start looking at the newer portables.

GCS runs in java, does the android not run Java or is the interface too small?

That would require both a Mac, and an iOS device, and updating my c/c++ to visual c.

Where As i already know Java, just don't have a test platform.

Don't think the Andriod uses swing, but it own interface, so the UI would need to be adapted.

Android uses a completely different way to display it's GUI, and does not run java bytecode (it uses Java code compiled against a different virtual machine). It also uses a different set of standard libraries.

Now, last time I checked the sources for GCS, the GUI libraries it use are not the baseline Java ones, so it might be easier to port, depending on how it's done.
