Before the game:

GM: "If I need that figure--you're [doomed]."
Teddy (OOC): "Mecha-Streisand?"
GM: "Worse."

--

GM (to Bharik): "You're not sure, but you think your urine has a higher-proof than this wine."

--

GM: "He does look the most festive of them. You're thinking--"
Bharik: "Halfling undertaker?"

--

Mark: "When struck by lightning, cows like to explode."
<beat>
Bobb: "Not 'like to' more 'tend to.'"
Mark: "Cows are made of explodium, and approved by Mr. Torgue."

Prisoner: "I've been captured by idiots."

Lieutenant: "He's also lost a lot of blood"
Corporal: "Maybe he shouldn't have shot at us!"

GM: "So are you going to haul him to Massachusetts and the 80's?"

Toni: "How 'Batman' is this guy? On a scale of Condor-Man to BatMan--how Batman is he?"

Just pray the response isn't "Die Fledermaus." Unless he's the OpFor, in which case pray it is...

Had Toni thought of that--she would have said that instead of Condor-Man.

A very common feeling among NPCs. Once, just once, we managed the opposite.

You're a prisoner in the Temple of Maldebode, within the dungeon complex of the Great Necromancer. It's worse than it sounds, and you've been here for, um, several days? It's hard to tell. There's quite a lot of shouting and banging outside your cell, but there's nothing unusual about that.

Suddenly, your cell door explodes. Someone in a suit of armour sticks their head in, with a light, and calls back out the door "One prisoner, looks human." Someone rather smaller but equally armoured comes in, squints at you through a monocle, and calls back "Yup, she's human, not armed, not possessed." The first suit of armour comes back in and pulls your chains out of the wall without obvious effort. A little old man comes in, looks at you hard, hands you a bottle, saying "drink that" and starts digging clothing out of a bag that can evidently hold far more than looks possible.

"I've been rescued by professionals!"

We got her safely out and offered her a job, but she'd decided to retire from adventuring.

To be fair to my players, they were acting like military professionals in a post-apoc timeline where everybody acted like a bunch of insecure gangsters, and weren't 100% familiar with the local technology.

"On the back of the man who attacked you is a tattoo in the shape of a hand. You may attempt Lore skills to identify it."

"I attempt Lore:Religious and fail"

"I have Lore:Reiksland but also fail."

"My Lore is Comic Book and I think they are ninjas!"

"I roll a 97 and agree!"

"...and this is my brother Stefan and this is my brother Dresden. My brother Dietrich was here a minute ago but seems to have wandered off and this is my sister Lorelei. Actually she is the half-sister of my half-brother and would not be related to me except that Papa adopted her."

"Huh?"
