Nekomimi Question V

What is the overall style of Nekomimi technology? Some of these imply greater use of Material Magic, some rather less so. Also, there will be a later question or questions on their native magic (probably related to how it's activated and how rare that is), but which one wins here will affect what the options are.

1. Classical Herbalism (TL1^ with TL(1+3)^ or greater for herb lore; martial arts is probably socially important, and fairly mystical)

2. Advanced Clockpunk (TL(4+4)^; really tiny and precise gearing, clockwork robots & analytical engines, impressive springs; some machines might use alchemical 'fuels,' or piezoelectricity, or overlap with Electrostaticpunk)

3. Electrostaticpunk (TL(4+2)^ with a focus on the application of static electricity)

4. Cyberpunk (TL(7+2)^; cyberwear is quite common, along with some forms of AI, but Material Magic might not be needed beyond the Stargates and other non-native items)

5. Biopunk Samurai (TL4^ in general, but around (4+5)^ in biotechnology; thematically, most martial artists are probably more focused on the 'martial' than the 'art')

6. Sabrepunk (TL(3+1)^ or so, but emphasizing material science and alchemy, rather than mechanics)

7. Something else (please specify).

Please remember to include the number(s) of your preferred option(s) when you vote.

*******

Answer: OK, 5 has three votes, 1 also has three, but one of those is in combination with 6. 2 has two votes, and 3 and 6 have one each.

1, 2, or 5. A peaceful tribe of catfolk living in the furest, a eugenic aristocracy who give themselves cat powers, or (because I noticed my copy of Root) an expansionist, industrial state that's tearing down the forest. 1 is "save the kitties!", 2 and 5 are "save us from the kitties!" Maybe could have different groups with differing technologies, or perhaps we could treat the furrier catgirls as a subspecies with different technology. Like maybe if we go 1 and 5, perhaps they developed advanced biotechnology to adjust their appearance to become more human-like to match human/goauld elites.

Poll remains open, as two people is not a clear consensus.

Nekomimi Question VI

How many Nekomimi civilizations are there?

1. Just the one (which will be Biopunk Samurai).

2. There are two, Biopunk Samurai and Classical Herbalism.

3. Three: Biopunk Samurai, Classical Herbalism, and Advanced Clockpunk.

4. Four: Biopunk Samurai, Classical Herbalism, and Advanced Clockpunk, along with either Electrostaticpunk or Sabrepunk, or one of those in combination with one of the others (e.g. Kesendeja's 'Sabrepunk Herbalism' idea). May require another vote if this one wins, unless everyone is going for the same version.

5. Something else (please specify).

Please remember to include the number of your preferred option (preferably a single option this time) when you vote.

*******

Answer: OK, so 2 has two or three votes, and wins. 5a has one, which is a little disappointing, since it's an interesting idea.

I like options 2 or 3. If we were ranking instead of just approval voting, I'd go 2, 3, 1, then 4
