The Helm also sucked away all energy that was used in an attempt at normal spellcasting while sitting in a Helm.
In my adaptation to GURPS, I decided that a Helm required constant concentrate maneuvers to use, and the moment you stop concentrating the Helm powers down. Powering it back up took 1 second of concentration per ton of the ship, leaving the ship a sitting duck for a while. The constant concentration also resulted in the loss of 1 FP every hour, and you cannot rest to regain FP if you are concentrating. Tactical/combat Move of the ship was based on level of Magery of the helmsman.

So spellcasters still had access to their magic, just not while actually using the Helm.

WEll, I've pre-ordered it. Amazon has a -40% discount for pre-orders and there's only today and tomorrow to claim that. It was still over $40 but 40% more than that would have been ridiculous.

There seems t be an adventure and I'm hoping it's enough to run multiple sessions. The 5e Eberron lacked such a thing and that was one of its' significant shortcomings.

<shakes head>

Some times I click faster than I read. That rather high price is for this

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/07...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

.....which is a whole mess of Spelljammer stuff including a 64 page adventure.

Well I put down my order with Amazon. Later on I will try to answer questions about the setting on this thread.

Read a first skim first impressions review that the biggest complaint was that setting is all but absent. So a more in depth viewpoint could be interesting.

I look forward to reading reviews from the folks here that buy it.

They say I should expect my books by August 29th.

As to the gentleman who wanted an adventure with the setting. One of the three 64 page books is an adventure. From the title it must involve entering the Wild space in the setting.

I'm a little worried that the main setting book is also 64 pages. But as the Monster Manual for the setting is also 64 pages, I assume it's also doing some heavy lifting.

PS: I looked at the order on Amazon, I was told it's now due on the 27th. Ten days from now.

I waited until the 15th to buy. I may just be behind you in the line. It could also be that the data about when the books are getting delivered is subject to substantial changes as we go along.
