Default Dabbler?

I've got a player who wants to use the Dabbler perk (Power-Ups 2, p16), but for the life of us, neither can figure out how it's supposed to work in GCA. When adding it, a cryptic dialogue box pops up that says, "Specify 8 pts on bonus on skills (1pt for +1, 2pt +2, 4pt +3)" and a free text field below. What are we supposed to type into this box so that the perk works? We've tried a number of variations without success. Or does it do anything at all? Is it just a placeholder, and we've got to manually add a gives tag or something?

Pretty much, yes. Dabbler is basically a very tricky Perk, and it never got any attention to coding it in a correct way. When added it's essentially asking you to provide a hand written note as to which skills are receiving bonuses.

Thanks. Sorry for taking so long to respond--I was away at a conference for work the last couple days.

Good to know. I know what needs to be done to hack it into useful condition for our purposes--that's no biggie. And I realize it'd be pretty hard to implement solely via data file. Ah well.
