(IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]

Peter regroups with Rajat

"Were you following the others? Did you see where they went?"

Peter and Rajat were slightly delayed by his being dazed by their pursuers magic, so he presumes the others are ahead. They keep moving and try and pick up their trail.

Peter looks about for Goliath and says his name in a heavy whisper.

Goliath creeps up to Peter in the dark. The dog goes quietly snuffling for the others.



Rajat: "I didn't think that was going to work. Next time we stay out in the woods. Thanks for saving me. I thought they had me. We don't exactly train against magic."


Ann: "I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight."


Rajat: "We need to move out anyways. We don't want to still be in here where they can find us when night comes."


Leon: "Who were they."


Ann: "I'm not sure."

Goliath creeps up to Peter in the dark. The dog goes quietly snuffling for the others.

Good Boy.

Rajat: "I didn't think that was going to work. Next time we stay out in the woods. Thanks for saving me. I thought they had me. We don't exactly train against magic."

"You're welcome. If they got anyone we'd have all been in trouble, so we couldn't let that happen."

Ann: "I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight."


Rajat: "We need to move out anyways. We don't want to still be in here where they can find us when night comes."

"Agreed. The more ground we can cover before the sun comes up, the better. Is everyone okay though? Speak up and no 'toughing-it-out' , because a twisted ankle you can handle now will turn into a big problem later if we don't get ahead of it."

Peter makes sure everyone is more or less okay.

Leon: "Who were they."


Ann: "I'm not sure."

"They were the Chaplaincy of St. Andrew investigating for treason and witchcraft. Apparently we fit the description."

Leon: "Yes, some actual wizards accused us of witchcraft. Shouldn't they be investigating themselves. Does knowing they're the Chaplaincy of St. Andrew actually help us at all?"


Ann: "These might be the people in charge of tracking banestorm victims. Did they seem like they were looking for us or that we were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time?"

They say they're all good, and you strike out, leaving the forest, and then staying near the treeline when possible.

"They were searching all over the town, so, if they were looking for us, they didn't know too much about who they were after."

Leon : "Sounds like we just got unlucky then. I wonder if they'll chase us or their original target."


As morning dawns, Rajat has them hide in another stand of trees. They've gotten maybe three hours of sleep that night, and have been on their feet for most the time they've been awake.

Peter will follow the other's lead on finding a place to rest or pressing on through the exhaustion for the day...

They hide in the trees to sleep. Rajat isn't a bad woodsman himself, though its apparent no one has had quite as much practice at sleeping in forests as Peter has. They set a watch: Peter is given the first one.



There is some debate as the morning is approaching about if they will stay off the road for the rest of their trip or if they should return to it.

Peter keeps his eyes peeled and tries to be diligent on his watch!

He reviews the night in his mind, and what that stunning spell looked like that stopped Rajat in his tracks. Peter would have liked to learn more about the local magic, but he didn't think those guys would be too chatty.

Peter sees what looks like deer in the woods at night, but nothing more threatening.

The stunning spell was tried a few different times. Peter thinks he might be able to replicate it? maybe? but trying, he realizes he's missed something*



*I rolled IQ, on success he would have been able to cast it. He failed the roll with a 14.


He falls asleep through most of the day. He dreams of Ink-Thur. Or Incarius, as he seems to be going by in the dream. Incarius is talking with his companions.


Man: "I'd say that the spell was a great success. We pulled from at least two different locations, maybe even three."

Woman: "But not the ones we wanted"

Man: "We can do it again. Refine the technique. Be happy that it worked. And I wouldn't say we didn't want the new species. They're exactly the sort of thing we're looking for."

Ink-Thur: "They have the effects we wanted. but not a way to reproduce it."

Man: "You're all hung up on the old technology. We need new stuff. Stuff the chaplaincy hasn't seen before."
