I don't expect him (and neither do the player ) to fight alone. But he got enough resiliency and damage to take down or hinder a minor opponent that would otherwise destroy his frail human master.
Against several opponents, or a stronger opponent... that's why his master and him won't go monster hunting alone.

Thats what I did.

Reduced IQ (-6) (Affects IQ) [-120]
IQ 5 [20]

It's about a 70 pt template but it's an excellent starting point & the dog's tough as nails.

In the MH campaign I'm GM-ing the Witch wanted an animal ally to guard his house/sanctum. I started with the Tmber wolf ally from DF & slaped on a "Fae" lense (based off of, mostly, demons in MH-3 with a vulnerability to iron based off the Lycanthropes, also in MH-3). It's real tough.

If you are interested, I can post the stats. I'm planning to use a few of those "Fae Hounds" when the PC's run into the "Wild Hunt". Muahhhaaaa!!!! >:)
I should have though of looking there.
Thanks.

That's why I give animal Allies a form of TBaM, which magically does away with this disadvantage. And the best Luck you can afford. :-)

it almost sounds like the Foo/Temple Dog that Harry Dresden has might be a good inspiration.

As they are breed of dogs breed to guard temple. Though Mouse does come close to haven't in innate attack, it more an impudent the let it fight tooth and claw against some nasty supernatural stuff, and a pentreating howl that while does no damn worked very much as an Major alarm.

Does the priest have any "patch up dog" powers?. I'd go with Unkillable. And what...no Danger Sense, Detect Evil, Detect Supernatural? That's the kind of thing that dogs are supposed to be able to do. And yeah, it should have human intelligence.

Human intelligence tends to make animals "humans in funny suits". It would be difficult to keep its dog-ness intact.

Have the celestial dog regenerate when prayed over or on appropriate holy ground. That might save some points and help with theme.

it means "Trained By a Master" but don't let it's name fool you, it for opening up cinematic unarmed martial arts with or without a master

1) Thanks Rouge.

2) I did not recall anything in TBaM that helps & after rereading it (B.93), I still don't see how it helps any. Kazander, could you please elaborate?*

* I really need to know. In my MH game the warrior does more dammage letting the monsters attack him (they get no defense) then he does when attacking them.
