Default Swarms

Are there any rules for stating swarms anywhere? On page 461 of the basic book it talks about the rules of a swarm, but what advantages would that be. I want to have a swarm as an ally so I do actually need the point cost of the swarm.

Diffuse (Swarm) for starters. Are you building an Ally ['Group']?

UltraTech page 37 has swarmbot stats. As an Ally I'd be surprised if a swarm was worth anywhere near 25% of a PCs cp but I haven't done any maths on it. If your ally were flying microbots capable of chewing through light armour and slowly eating someone to death, 1d corrosive damage, always available but stowed in a handy pod, I'd rate it as 8cp.

There are some swarms in the Ultratech book, but I don't see any actual stats for them.

You want GURPS Powers, which has the Swarm Enhancement for Injury Tolerance (Diffuse) on p. 53. This would normally be always on automatically. Build the Ally with whatever stats you see fit, then apply Diffuse from the Basic Set and Swarm from Powers.

P.37 in the box at the bottom of the page. The references to IT:Diffuse are also relevant. Your swarm is going to end up being very vulnerable to area effect and explosion attacks.

I'm glad you have the book; stats start on page 35, move etc is in the chasis descriptions and ST, HP, IQ etc are in the box Fred pointed out.

No more vulnerable than any other character.
