Wow. Not me. I'm playing in ROS. So far we -- the PCs -- have been successful at living. However, of our spread out "settlement" of 300 people, we've lost something like 20 (many fighters) in the past week of game time. And we've faced very few bots... Also, the "robot overlords" seem bent on using us for horrible purposes.

That's the spirit!

Which Zone are you playing in?

I'm not sure I see what sort of improvement the Alpha Dog is over the Big Dog. The Big Dog was as impressive as heck, whereas the Alpha Dog not only had to be supported by a sling, but what were those tubes/cables coming out of the front? Does it lack the ability to carry its own power source or computers?

Alpha Dog is in an earlier testing phase. IE it has not graduated to being free standing yet.

Of course all of them are so noisy you couldn't sneak up on a rock band.
Not good in a military robot for infantry.

Default "Of what use is a newborn babe?"

These things are going to be huge -- maybe not in my lifetime, but in the lives of those in college. Maybe older.

I have an image of the future -- a Big Dog version 15.5 with semi-autonomous decision making, sensors, an automatic weapon in a turret, and a blank check to go hunt down the (designated) enemies of the State. Quieted power & drive system (the 1955 SSN 571 Nautilus sounded as loud as a washing machine even when it was miles away; the 1965 Sturgeon class was real quiet; the 1978 SSN 688 Los Angeles could pass within 10 meters of a swimmer without being heard), better sensors -- boy, would any number of militaries & police forces like that.

Enjoy the brave new world, sports fans.
