Default Geese Stats

Do any GURPS books have stats for a goose? I’m running a game which is gonna have some geese.

Running a search on those GURPS books I have in PDF, the only thing I found was:
Pyramid 3/34 August '11 Alternate GURPS

WHEN WE WERE VERY SMALL p 19 by Mark Gellis

I wouldn't bother giving them stats, just make them able to do whatever is needed to give the party a bad day...

ST 5, DX 12, IQ 4, HT 12

Pretty high Perception. The ganders will have Brawling skill. Move 6/Flight 12

Just off the top of my head.

Low-Tech Companion 3 has a generic poultry stat-block, which includes geese.

Anon's Animal Album is unofficial, but has a more detailed stat-block for geese specifically.

I wouldn't put a goose as high as IQ 4. That's as high as the more alert mammals (other than primates): wolves, cats, perhaps rats, bats, and so on. But the ratio of brain mass to body surface area for birds generally is about half that for mammals generally (with the exception of songbirds, which are comparable to primates). And geese have observably small heads in proportion to total body size. I'd be inclined to give them IQ 3, like the less sophisticated mammals (for example, most hoofed mammals other than elephants, which I would guess are at least IQ 5).

However, geese don't seem to be easy to intimidate. I'd probably give them a moderately high Will, say 11 or 12.

Geese are relatively intelligent in amongst birds:

https://www.fao.org/3/Y4359E/y4359e04.htm

And in some birds, the density of cells in the brain is greater than in some mammals, suggested to be an evolutionary development due to the need to keep weight low to enable flight:

https://www.theguardian.com/science/...s-than-mammals

So it really comes down to how you define intelligence (a whole other discussion), but the size of the brain or the relative size to the body, are not definitive markers of intelligence.

An IQ of 3 isn't unreasonable, by any means, but neither is 4, I suspect.

No, they really are freaking not: more by way of "Bring it on, human!" They can also be pretty aggressive, and can strike hard enough to break bones.

Eeesh, I had to negotiate a flock of geese daily for a few months, bicycling to work (on the only road crossing a small lake). They did not take kindly to my presence, they didn't care that I was pedaling pretty fast through that stretch, and it got so that I rode carrying a pair of nunchuks to fend the bastards off. Took me decades to reconcile myself to geese.

Not just the ganders. Geese are aggressive both amongst themselves and towards other creatures, and it's not just the males that fight.
