Munchkin Batman Accomplices Question

The Accomplices in Steve Jackson's Munchkin presents Batman was difficult to grasp at two separate occasions with new and returning Munchkin players. If Accomplices were Door cards, would of there been less confusion?

I don't think so, although it would keep them from being caught in the Treasure/Item confusion. Although before I encountered Accomplices I didn't have Treasure/Item confusion.
