If you are in the middle of an argument via PMs, don't take that argument public. If you can't refrain from replying to someone who's annoying you, use your Ignore List - that's why it's there.

Additionally, remember that overtly political posts ARE NOT ALLOWED unless there's a specific game-related context to them, such as describing a fantasy government in terms of a real-world analog. People who persistently violate this rule are not likely to be around very long.

Keiko2 has been banned for one week.

The situation is a little complicated, but the short version is that there was enough evidence that another account by this user was a sockpuppet of a third account that we issued bans of the other two accounts. Keiko2 is a new account with no attempt at deception, and we appreciate that. Given that there’s a pending appeal of the ban on the original account, it’s not appropriate to allow the new account to post freely until that is resolved; that would defeat the purpose of the ban and fly in the face of our anti-sockpuppeting policy.

We will update this thread once the situation sorts itself out next week.

User "Brian" has been permanently banned for NSFW spam. We don't usually note spammer bans here, but in this case the user had contributed to several threads before the spam became evident, so it's possible we just chopped holes in some conversations. Now you know what happened.

Alonsua has been banned for one day for a personal attack on another user.

Alonsua has been permanently banned from the SJ Games forums.

This was not an easy decision, nor one quickly arrived at, but the sense of the moderation team was that Alonsua was not interested in actual discussions but in having the tropes of their pet setting validated. When, instead, they were subjected to reality testing as well as testing for validity under GURPS rules and found wanting in both cases, discussions broke down irreparably.

This pattern recurred enough times that it came to our attention, from multiple sources, and after multiple warnings with no significant change, we decided this user was unlikely to adjust their approach to our forums in a way that would allow us to permit their continued participation. We are open to challenging questions about GURPS, but we require that people asking those questions be open to answers that may not be the ones they like. This user was not and was asking essentially the same questions repeatedly, so we have taken away their soapbox.
