Default monster colored die

hey,
we tried this game tnt, confused about 2 things related to the monster die:
1. what do u do when in the exploring phase, when choosing the base of the monster the die rolls a color that does not exist, eg yellow. Per the rules it says that if it rolls a color that has no base available, you choose a color (and that player doesnt get an d&m card), also clarified what to do if there r no bases left. But it doesnt says what to do when is a color that even if all bases were available, is simple a color that has no player/bases assigned e.i. yellow and purple (players are blue, red, orange and green). Dame situation if what if only 3 players are playing, and RED is no in-game, what do you do if red is rolled during base selection? ... just choose a color?

2. A monster is in X room. it has arrows orange, red, green and blue (e.g room 2 in the diagram of rule book in page 14), what happens if you roll yellow, or purple? we played as simple no moving the monster... sure we did that wrong, but re-rolling felt just weird.
2.a you roll the monster colored die for movement once, so that THAT color affect ALL monsters? or you roll the die PER monster to see where EACH go depending on color rolled for it?

thx :D

I think you played both situations correctly. Or at least the same way I play...

If you roll a color that has no bases available, either because they're all in use or because that color is not being used, the person rolling the die chooses a color. No DxM is awarded.

Roll the color die once for monster movement, not once for each monster. If a monster doesn't have a matching color arrow out of its room, it doesn't move that turn.

Good. I don't want to move those monsters any more than I have to. :)
