Default Slinklings

These goblin sized relatives of the dragons and reptile men have human stats (ST 8, DX 8, IQ 8, plus 8 attributes) and abilities for the most part.

Their claws do no more damage than a human's fists in combat and their tails are too lightweight to serve as weapons. However if their tails are left free and unarmored (can be targeted as an arm from the side and rear) these help with their balance and provide +2 DX for any attempt to retain their footing.

The slinklings traditionally serve dragons as human serfs serve human lords. Their tribal tongue is Draconian. They hatch from communal clutches, and are known by the name of their dragon lord and job title (Tuunak's Scout) along with a nickname. Receiving a true name from their dragon lord is a mark of great honor amongst their kind. And losing their dragon lord is a great shame. (c.f. 47 Ronin)

Dragons consider their slinkling horde to be part of their treasure hoard and will trade or gift these with members of their own kind. Killing a dragon's slinkling is looked at no more favorably than stealing coins from the dragon's bed, but they will cull their own to eliminate weakness or as a punishment for a great offense.

Wizards are as common to the slinklings as to the goblins, and are the source for many of the magic items used by dragons.

Pretty interesting idea. It would be interesting if they would accompany a party on a mission of import to the dragon. Or to hunt a party down that displeased one.

I like the tail working like that. Kangaroos have any influence on that?

Do you have any traits in mind for them? Slave mentality? Zealots? Desperate for freedom?

I see them as in general resigned to feudalism. Better to be oppressed as a crutch to some dragon's ego than risk going it alone when everybody will suspect you're working for a dragon anyway.

I would wonder how many generations have served? Has this acceptance been recent? Is it a way of life that has developed from generations of servitude?
