Default Higher purpose ideas

Would this rightfully qualify as a higher purposes and if they are workable?

"Justice!"
Due to her education and training as a specialized super black ops like FBI investigator that specializes in cults, terrorists, secret groups, and enemies of the country. Like combo of Jason Bourne and Jack Bauer.

"Life saver"
Due to the characters training as a super search and rescue specialist, trained as Truman surgeon as we'll. activated when trying or attempting to save a life either in combat, in the field, or in a hospital.

"Defend the innocent"
A modern knight like character that was trained in the "old code" from Dragonheart film. He would use it to defend others and to save others.

No, it's too broad.

Yes, but only for real life or death, no bonus to do first aid.

Open the Gates of Giresh, win the Miss America pageant, eradicate the deer tick, sink the Bismark.

Is that what the Medic Profession Template's Higher Purpose says in GURPS Action volume 1?

Higher Purpose (“Medic!”): In an action scene, you get +1 to all success rolls made to aid injured allies: Dodge and movement skill rolls to reach them under fire, HT rolls to stay conscious on your way there, medical skill rolls to patch them up, etc.
Though I'm not really happy with these Higher Purpose (Act according to my character design concept) uses that have started to creep in. If you had to have "+1 to my characters rolls", I'd just call it a Talent. But then people would never give away a +1 to all those different rolls for just 5 points instead of 15, or 24 to bump your Medic! skill.

I dunno... the life-saving requirement may be sufficiently specific for the op's version. The one in Action 1 does seem a bit too broad.

The critical thing to keep in mind when approving Higher Purposes is not what they give bonuses to, but what the "invisible" disadvantage core is. They all should be built around a -15 point or so Code of Honor, Fanaticism or Obsession (which you do not get separate points for!). As long as that's there, how far the bonuses stretch isn't much of a problem - since they only apply in pursuit of the goals of the inbuilt disadvantage, one that covers a lot naturally has a more serious disadvantage compulsions built in.

If you can't figure out why this would be a major to severe disadvantage if it didn't add to die rolls, it's not a valid Higher Purpose.

Defending noncombatants in imminent peril strikes me as a legitimate Higher Purpose.

Sink the Bismark, and win the Miss America Pageant are normal goals for people in the appropriate vocations. Eradicate the deer tick is more appropriate as being a rich philanthropist concentrating his sights on a particular disease requires going out of his way more then a naval officer or an athlete/entertainer/whatever it's called being successful in their respective vocations.
