Hit Location for Teeth and it's DR.

What is the negative to hit for teeth, specifically human? And what DR do you think teeth have? Would simply piercing the DR break the teeth?

The simple answer is to look at the new Jaw hitlocation, introduced in Martial Arts (pg.137). It's basically a subset of Face, giving an additional -1 Knockdown from crushing attacks. If you want to target the teeth directly (for example, to take out an assassin's poison-filled false tooth) there isn't a clear way to do so. Probably just tack on another -2 or so. The teeth likely have no significant DR, and damage over ~1/3 HP could break them (I'd give the subject a HT roll to keep his teeth intact). A Major Wound to the Jaw could likewise break the teeth.

Yep. The mouth is part of the jaw hit location. An additional -2 to hit sounds resonable if you specificially want to target the teeth.

An individual tooth is rather smaller than an eye and would have a more negative modifier. The teeth as a region are comparable to other larger facial features such as the nose or the ear.

I'd say teeth have DR 2. After all, other human bones have DR 2, and everything I've heard on the subject says they're just as strong if not stronger.

I have had some personal experience with tooth injuries, and I'd say that a 1 point hit to the mouth typically loosens or cracks (HT roll?) a tooth, a 2 point injury will knock out or break teeth. Teeth do not regrow (though baby teeth are naturally replaced), but dental prosthetics have been around for a very long time, and higher tech dentistry can reattach lost teeth (probably a HT roll to determine whether it stays in), repair or crown broken teeth, and put in dental implants (TL 8). TL 9+ dentistry can probably grow new teeth, it's something that's being experimented with now.
