Basically if the target isn't reduced to reeling and spluttering, or standing dumbstruck (possibly while turning interesting tomato colours) it wasn't Rapier Wit, it was just a cutting comment. Or possibly a Public-Speaking based feint (bought with a perk)

Cyrano is not in a silly campaign, and therefore does not have the Rapier Wit advantage. But if he were in a silly campaign he would have the advantage and that certainly would have be a use of it.

All he knows about the guy is something he discerned by a single comment. My impression of Kromm's views is that it needs something more than that. If not then I guess I don't have a problem after all.
