Most direct translation of d20's "Perform (Comedy)" skill in GURPS?

Seems like a party skill, I'd imagine being entertaining would be a party-related endeavor. Maybe give/negate bonuses with some Savoire-Faire, Current Events or even Area Knowledge rolls, along with Cultural Familiarity.

And then when you stink up the joint, take a level or two in Terror.

I'd say Public Speaking is the best fit. It's the skill used with Rapier Wit, which is the only canon example of delivering a joke effectively I can think of.

Carousing, Fast Talk or Performance should all also work well.

Carousing's the only one that seems to fit. I always found Public Speaking a little broad; it figures into so many other things than to just be 'Perform (Comedy)'. Fast-Talk in Comedy seems more like a hack comic delivering old material and selling it; convincing people it's funny without actually making up anything new, ditto Performance (although that leaves open concocting your own skits or whatever and performing those).

I always thought that D20's Perform (Comedy) was about spontaneity, which is what I think Carousing best represents.

Not to sell these ideas short, I just felt the need to write a book on it.

It's most likely the optional specialization of Public Speaking called Stand-up, Comedy, or Punning if you're a vile person. See Basic 216.

Variant of Public Speaking or Performance, then. Public Speaking in and of itself covers too much: this would mean Jerry Seinfeld was equally qualified to address a health conference or basketball game's fans.
