Default Getting mobbed.

Is it impossible for a large number of people to dog-pile someone in GURPS? It seems that rules limit the number of people that can try to an unrealistically small number. If I'm missing something please let me know.

It really isn't possible for more than six people to get a clear shot at someone, so, no. Sure after someone goes down loads of people can make a pile, but that's outside of the sphere of combat. All you are doing is putting more weight on top.

They would count as encumbrance of the victim was strong enough to move.

Yeah often enough that it needs to be in a book or at least the FAQ
I hope its in Horror for example, zombie minions pulling you down or swarms of small demonic minions.....

More Encumbrance, bringing the poor guy on the bottom closer to being crushed to death.

Dogpiling isn't "Grappling", there's only so many people who can get their hands on the the guy before there's a wall of bodies between the people higher up and the victim. Just sitting on top of the pile isn't a grapple, it's sitting on someone.

A prone person fills two hexes, not one (unless he's actually curled up on his side) - so you can actually pile more people on them once they're down.

Eventually you're going to risk crushing your guys on the bottom as well as the victim though.

I found this (as suggested in the other thread):

B392 "Any number of people may participate in close combat in the same hex."

So, yes I can dog-pile an annoying PC with zombies! Woo-hoo!
