One also needs no special shout to reach Khan Noonian Singh. Shouting through space is pointless, as even James T. Kirk should know.

Conan: What gods do you pray to?
Subotai: I pray to the four winds... and you?
Conan: To KROMM... but I seldom pray to him, he doesn't listen.
Subotai: [chuckles] What good is he then? Ah, it's just as I've always said.
Conan: He is strong! If I die, I have to go before him, and he will ask me, "What is the riddle of steel?" If I don't know it, he will cast me out of Canada and laugh at me. That's KROMM, strong on his mountain!
Subotai: Ah, my god is greater.
Conan: [chuckles] KROMM laughs at your four winds. He laughs from his mountain.

One day, KROMM came to a bar, and they only had American beer. Seeing thus, KROMM said "Yecch, how can one stand to drink only American beer?"
So KROMM edited the line... Lo! and behold, huzzah and kabloink, all of a sudden, the bar had all the greatest ale in the world. KROMM saw it and was content.

The Holy Mother Thread has been neglected, forgotten, spat upon! Left for pastures greener, abandoned without so much as a backward glance! This behaviour will not stand. It will not stand!

There is only one KROMM. He is the Line Editor of GURPS. He is the provider of GURPS IV. He is the Merciful, the Munificent, the Magnificent, the Marvellous. He is KROMM. No one is KROMM but him.

Those who heed false prophets and Other Line Editors will not be favoured. Remember the fate of those who spurn KROMM's mercy and His love.

And I saw a small basement, wherein sat five players. Their eyes were dead, their movements listless, their dice dull. And I saw the GM, and he was sitting by himself behind a large screen made from poorly put-together cardboard and cackling to himself. And he had a rulebook in his right hand, and the name on the rulebook was F.A.T.A.L. And the adventure was called "Never-Ending Dungeon." And there was no hope there, and no KROMM to help them, for they had forsaken him to follow false GMs.
Thus spoke Asta Kask.

The wizard pictured on the cover of GURPS Magic, the one holding a crackling staff overhead and shooting a demon, is this KROMM or merely an avatar of KROMM? The face seems a bit too similar to KROMM's image in this forum to be coincidence.

I go away* for a few months and I come back to this? Bad Klingon! Bad! ^_^ Of course we should encourage him, maybe that way he likes his job even more and thus will be better. 'Sides Kromm deserves the praise...'cause the faithful said so!

* I had a family emergency in another state and ended up fairly stuck there without internet access in the boonies...good to be back!

Thanks Jame! It was a long road and there was sadness...but we survive and we thrive.

Now to the adulation...

Kromm is so great that even Time and Space cannot hold him...after all it was he who destroyed the Phantom Zone.

Ghostdancer

Welcome, Ghostdancer, Brother in KROMM.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may KROMM hold you in the palm of His hand.

I hope that everything turned out for the best and I'm sorry for any sorrow incurred by the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.
