"Well, it was worth a shot. Okay, I'll go back and be your Emissary. What should I ask them?"

If Peter is supplied with a few names to ask the gods about anecdotes for and/or other useful questions, he will try and sleep his way back to the divine village that night.

Peter is asked to stick around for at least one night while they gather up the information: their city god is not available, and they want experiences and secrets from high up and notable people. He's asked how he will remember all of this.


The certainly want him to ask about Arn-Oda, and details about questions and Gods are slowly trickling in.. he has two by that evening.



What will he do all day, and where will he be sleeping?

"I dunno... I don't know how much I will remember. All I can do is try my best. It's probably smart to keep it to just a simple couple of things. Maybe we can take some important points and build them together into a little story. Or you can just give me some names... I don't want to waste time if I can help it, and it may take a few nights to get there. I might wake up somewhere else first and keep trying to make my way."

Peter will try and name-drop any gods he can remember meeting so they can match the important people to their gods, so Peter knows the best immortals to try and talk to on his return.

He will also ask about feeding him and Goliath and if they have a place for him to sleep. If he cannot pursue the "mission" and he's free to roam, he'll feel out for the local magic and follow the flow while he will try to do some of the memory exercises he'd been working on (for remembering details for his book).

He's been assigned an "Escort" who has strict instructions not to let Peter out of his sight. The man is armed with a ray gun and a few other devices whose purpose Peter isn't sure of.



He's also been assigned a room near a temple... which means quite a bit farther into the city. Its normally for "novice priests", but they don't seem to have many of those.

His escort gets him food... though Peter has to come along. Is he wearing the I love NY shirt or the "local" clothing Kuridas got for him? There are a bunch of options. The escort seems to be trying to guide him towards eating some of the less fancy options, mostly porridges and thin soups.



none of the Gods he met before are useful to them.



How far will he try and follow the flow of the magic? there is some flow, but it seems to be minimal, and the destination seems to be outside of the city limits. It occasionally shifts as well.



Peter sleeps peacefully that night, with no dreams.

Peter will dress like the locals and will get the stuff that looks best to him... He's not terribly worried about his 'evil captors' budget concerns.

He will follow the flow as long as he is allowed to do so, or until it makes some kind of sense he can figure out.

The flow originates outside of the city. His escort asks him "Where are we going? there's nothing but farmland out there."

"I'm just going with the flow! Can we get a vehicle?"

Peter will explore until something presents itself or he is summoned to get more potential questions.

"No, we will not get a vehicle. I need you close to the city. We can follow this 'flow' you speak of though".


An hour out of town, you find that the flow leads to a portal.

Peter will examine the portal and the flow of magic, as well as the scene on the other side of the portal... Does anyone seem to be observing the portal on either side?

"So, are these just popping up at the god's whim?" He asks his escort.

No, its just a desert with rocks, sand, and scraggly brown bushes.

"Who knows? Who knows if the gods are even around anymore? I thought you were supposed to be the expert on that?"
