Surgeon, barber-surgeon, saw-bones.
Maybe assisted by stretcher-bearers. Large armies would have them as camp followers and the would not likely be near most actual fighting. If there was not a rout, the injured would be borne off the field by comrades or servants. |

Re: Medieval first aid name?
There wasn't an one-size-fits-all handy English-language word for the term, quite aside from that for much of the era, much of the intelligentsia in England spoke either French or Latin. If it suits you to name the skill "Chirurgery," or some such, go for it, but "middle ages Europe" covers several centuries, more than one language shift, several dozen different languages, and half a thousand countries both great and small. Can you narrow this down a bit?

Im just trying to use medieval sounding named for skills. First aid sounds too modern. For Chirurgery , that is already taken … it replaces Surgery, so your suggestion is taken there haha.

Re: Medieval first aid name?
I'd guess they'd call it "wound dressing"

Re: Medieval first aid name?
There may not be a name for it. All of it would fall under 'healing arts' but there is not much in common with what we think of as first aid with the intent to keep an injured person from bleeding out or going into shock.
