Default Anything on set 4?

I haven't seen anything in awhile, but I was thinking that October '22 was the release date...

It is hugely, insanely, ridiculously expensive to produce. This will be a crowdfunding campaign because the costs over the last few years have skyrocketed far beyond what we saw for the earlier sets.

We are not yet ready for a crowdfunding launch.

I have patience… been waiting for these since… I can’t remember…

Just looking forward to having the Combine plastics to go with my PanEuropeans.

Car Wars is getting stls. Just sell us Ogre files, and we'll worry about shipping and production costs.

We are way, way too far down the path to turn around now. The investment to date on set four is immense. I don't think everyone understands how big of a risk these projects can become.

@Phil

Thank you for responding at least we have an idea why, cost overruns and inflation. Some of the posters on this forum have adopted a better late than never approach. The longer we wait it might become never and then the initial investment is lost anyway. I can afford to pay Ebay prices for Combine units or fund this kick starter but not both...

The last news was March 10th 2022 and you stated we might have a crowd funding campaign ready later in the year. Could we get a new update, silence is pushing me towards Ebay and alternative manufacturers.

@Captainsnake

"not cry over not having the right minis. This ain't Warhammer mate. But if you want to make your self really crazy look at our (in your opinion)mish mashed units in our clubs blog posts under Batrep 13(and others before it) on the OGRE/GEV page for some really mixed up armies."

I can assure you I am not crying nor am I crazy and I believe there are forum rules about keeping this civil? As I have already stated I am on the verge of purchasing proxies for my Combine forces but I think your reading comprehension went out the window in your haste to insult me.

I hesitated to propose this, because SJGames likely regards them as a competitor, but Wargames Atlantic has an outsourcing service that could possibly be hired to produce these miniatures rather than doing it in China. They do everything in house in the United States - which I don't think has been the case for plastic miniatures for a very long time.

I don't live in the States but I would love to see these produced in the USA and would pay a premium for that.

I third the motion.

Of course, a cynic might say that this is what Kickstarters (or the other options) are truly for: to get a price together for a project and let it sink or swim on its own merits.
