The only premade spoken for so far is the Knight of Starshine and Shadow.

I haven't added Psionics to the mixture, yet. Every character will have 50 points of psionic abilities and skills. You can either tell me what you want to do with it, or you can do the work, if you follow the guidelines on the wiki.

I'm interested in an engineer or in a blue star.

I'm not sure how illegal psionics interacts with being a blue star. Unless blue stars are permitted and most others are not.

How do robots work in the setting? The Wiki doesn't mention them, and the computing page doesn't exist yet.

I'd like to add quite a bit of capability to the engineer. I've wanted to play a psionic engineer-sabateour for a while now. If robots are a thing, I'd like to be able to work with them. Traps would be a really nice skill. As would be armory (small arms). I'd like a social skill other than carousing, especially as I think the easiest way to add these skills is to reduce HT. And scrounging is very useful for an engineer. Lockpicking would be really nice to have for a saboteur.

How does luck work in your PbP games? Number of days? Number of posts?

How does hacking work?

Is psi limited to one type? could you mix Ergokinesis with Psychokinesis? How do you feel about stuff like this*?

*yes that's my blog. I've wanted to do this concept for a while, as I said.

Not all characters have Divine Favor (Communion) and Devotion.

Devotion doesn't give any bonus to the reaction roll from Communion.

Psionics and Communion are separate things, but are intertwined together. Communion is a psionic gestalt created by the unconscious minds of all the people in the area (several parsecs).

Like everybody, use of psionics can be illegal. Knowingly having psionics without registering is illegal.

Generally, use of psionics adds to any penalty for another crime. Telepathy can be problematic because much of telepathy either removes free will or breaks privacy.

Sure, those skills could be useful. My source files for the characters use GURPS Character Assistant. If you want, let me know.

I haven't thought much on it. Or rather I've thought too much without coming to any decision.

No hacking! No cyber psi. The problem is that I find them both boring for the table and myself. Only one person is active during the hack, and that is the hacker.

Psi can be of all the types I have in the wiki. Or you can take the 50 point psi that I would otherwise give them.

So if I understand it correctly, if you have psionics you have to register, and if you commit a crime you get an additional penalty.

But its just fine to be a registered Psi who uses their TK to pick apples from their tree out back, or to use your psionic healing on consenting clients.

is that the shape of things?

lets wait until I decide if I'm an engineer or if I'm blue star.

I mean, I can tell you what I do, and its an issue that will need to be made firm...

I'd have thought that abstracting it down to a single roll would fix that, but suit yourself.

can I take the "sense of touch via TK" abilities in the link?

The Imperium may not arrest you, but each planet has it's own laws, and they are often nastier about psionics. Also, you may not get hired by some people if you've registered (because they know you're psionic).

I'll allow it as a rare ability.

There are robots, but their AI is strictly low-volition. They imitate a mind well, but they really can't learn much or make decisions. There aren't as many of them as in Star-Wars.

ok, lets do the engineer for now:

So that's:
  • mechanic (robotics)
  • Traps
  • Scrounging
  • Fast Talk or Diplomacy (or maybe both)
  • Lockpicking

I'd also like to pick up the following:
  • Explosives (Demolitions)
  • Stealth
  • Cameoflage
  • Smuggling
That should give the capabilities I'm hoping for. Buying down HT should be able to pay for most of that.

For Psionics he should have TK with the low-point touch ability I linked to.

What's the premise of the game? why are the characters together?

for a name ... Jonathan Humbrug?

What types of equipment do all you want? The TL is 13 maximum (Traveller) and the law level greater than or equal to 3.

Knights of Starshine and Shadow get their weapons and armor due to signature gear. If they want a gun or something, they must buy it with cash.

Other characters can have signature gear if they can buy it with character points.

TL-Grab?

It would be useful if at least one of the characters is a Scout of good standing.
