Peter summons up his Yaka Voice and attempts to command Hester.
"You will keep your word and see me safely back to where we met."

And he takes a step toward cover, hopefully these guys are still drawing their weapons when Peter turns his voice to the more capable looking of Carlos and Juan (of if one is much better positioned to help or hurt him).
"Make sure I get away safely."

Peter is headed back to the stairs as he gives these commands...

OCC: you can use either of those two commands, either "Keep your word" or "Send me back Safely" ... they should have about the same effect.



"Stop!" Hester says as the command hits her. "Don't stun".

"Make sure I get away safely."

Her word was that he would be free to go, and she would not use her powers on him without his knowledge and consent...

"See me back safely to where we met." Is a ride and his safety, but his safety may be a point subject to interpretation, she may think it's 'safer' for Peter to have his mind altered on the ride, so let's refine it to:

"You will keep your word."

About how far was the carriage ride? Is it practical to return on foot? How public is the area?

The Carriage ride was maybe a mile or two, so its walkable. The walk back is going to be quite public, cutting through a town (Havanah) where everyone uses their feet to get around.

You're in the upstairs hall of the law firm Hester took you too. Its fairly public.

Juan isn't sure what to do, and as a result Peter starts going down the stairs carefully and unimpeded.

Peter will hustle on out and head back for the hotel, in search of Kumar or Nicholas, wary of pursuit!

He's stopped at the outer doors by a man with a gun: "Its my understanding you are supposed to stay."


Hester calls out: "I promised him he could leave."


The man looks suspicious: "You gave all the signals to keep him."


Hester: "We have a deal."


Peter is let out. He moves quickly back across Havana.


As he gets closer to the boarding house, he notices a man in a bowler hat seems to be following him


When he gets to the boarding house, neither Nicolas nor Kumar seems to be there.

Kumar was getting a room here and Nicholas already had one, correct?

He will look to see if the man with the bowler is still lingering...

Yes. You and Kumar actually already had a room. I assumed you had checked it. And Nicolas's room. Neither is in their room. And kumar has taken his supplies.



Bowler hat is impatiently checking his watch and standing outside a door on the other side of the street.

When Peter checks the room, he will take a moment to conjure some spicey-smoke to repurpose and capture the local language, since he doesn't speak Spanish... Might come in handy.

He will approach the man in the bowler. His foolhardy boldness not biting him yet, Peter continues to push his luck.

"Okay, what's your deal?"
