I was a computer programmer. Doing a deep programming session of ten minutes usually gave me insights, but left me feeling foggy. We discussed this when we talked about flash step: most of the cinematic ma skills will have a minor QN cost. Right now I'm only telling you that some things are fatiguing, but not assessing any penalties. Pure narration.
For now, just ignore this.

Meanwhile, in engeneering: You resolved my action, but didn't mention NPC actions, so I am awaiting my next turn... |

But for the record, if it is my turn, and I ask for a clarification of what my character's current environment is to educate my action, I will expect that absolutely nothing will change and no time will advance until I get a response and am able to declare my ation in its original sequence occurring at my Basic Speed in the turn order. PC's should not lose their actions because players need more information about what their characters already know. Quote:
But I did not get any indication of their reaction or failure to react, or any queue you were ready for my next action. So I was just being clear that's what I was waiting for. |

I get that Matrix is posting a lot more than me, and that makes for awkward pacing. However, I really don't think that five times a week is a slow PbP rate, and you didn't mention a target rate. There are two reasons I hung back from combat: 1) DeLoach is not a combat-oreinted character. I didn't sign up to just shoot things. I want to jury rig, talk, investigate, and problem solve. 2)so as to not slow down Matrix's fight scene. So far I feel railroaded into very specific combat scenarios. I can't ask questions about the interesting NPC, I can't get information about what the bad guys are trying to do or what faction or gang they belong to, I can't interact with corners or broken doors, and I can't seek out a alternate entrance that's less guarded. So far all I can do is attack the bad guys in front of me.

You can ask him questions, as long as you aren't asking him personal ones. Generally, things like where he came from or what anything he owns does. And yes, he has a specific reason for doing this, even aside from being arrogant and snooty.u7 I will try to describe things in more detail. To me, vending machine are interesting. Think of the various things that can happen when they blow up. :) As for engineering, I think I've explained: engineering is behind a bulkhead because sealing this and blowing the drive outside might be neccesary. There probably enterances, bu you don't know where they are. Frankly, I expected you or Xian you to do some sightseeing on the ship. Going to the casinos, seeing engineering. That sort of thing. Heck, you didn't search for an all you can eat buffet.

If it is at 7.0 in the Basic Speed determined turn sequence, it's Scott's turn until he acts. If you feel questions require additional time to determine, and are no something the character would currently know, inform the player and ask if that is their character's action so the player can determine if they want to look around and spend the required time, or if they want to lunge ahead with what they know. Quote:
If you expected the characters would have done this, then you should have assumed it as so and described what we learned from those experiences as they would have occurred before your second post (or whatever). And Scott is an Certified Engineer. Of course he would have explored engineering and/or looked at the specs. Floor plans should not be hard to get. |

Been more than two weeks without a post in engineering, and now you appear to be advancing minutes...
What's up with that? |
