Obviously the rules have changed since then.
What was cheaper specifically as I can't find anything basic to the car that hasn't been the same since the Black and White Delux rules (items introduced after Delux are annotated *).

Luxury $800
Extra Heavy Chassis $800
Heavy Susp $1,200
Super PP $3,000
PR Radial x 4 $2,000
Armour (201) $4,020
4x2 pt. Hubs $80*
4x10 pt. Guards $400
10 pts. Plastic CA: Driver $100*
10 pts. Plastic CA: Pass $50*
10 pts. Plastic CA: PS $50*
Hi-Res Computer $4,000
3 x RL + link $4,100
TL $1000*
PS $650

Which makes $22,250 for the basic car without LG* or hand weapons
Tune laser $500
Link Laser to RL $50
30 rockets @200 each $6000
This is the price in the 2035 Uncle AL for LG.

So the car, even without any hand weapons or the illegal CA, is $28,800 not the advertised $24,840.

What am I missing?

I like the ideas behind the various Omega designs in VG3 , but dismayed by poor execution of those vehicles .

Stormy Weather can easily be tweaked with smaller Gas Engine to give same performance , with only slight loss of Armour Points . An IFE and Component Armour around Driver , Engine & Gas Tank virtually eliminates risk of explosion on top .
It was too overpriced to be in Div 30 anyway . Armour couldn't be Sloped like in description either , with 2×2 Space RRs Front .

Yes they need adjusting to fit modern games , but that's often fun itself .

I based a recent Hotshot design on model for 6th Edition - 2 FTs AND 2 Bumper Triggered Incendiary MGs all up Front & it makes a nice change . Plus a nasty surprise when you use the old Counters ... !

Much the same here -- when Incendiary MG ammo came out, I did a _Hotshot_ MG Option with all FTs replaced by twin MGs w/ Inc. ammo; it was actually more effective at setting other cars on fire than the original.

Somewhere in my files is my Much-Simpler Fire and Explosion Rules; I may need to unearth it. :)
