I was looking for information on the Killer Kart design when I learned of a horror movie produced in 2012 with an interesting title.
IMDb - Killer Kart (2012) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2415470 Facebook - Killer Kart https://www.facebook.com/killerkartmovie This movie could be adapted as a Car Wars scenario. A nearly-destroyed Killer Kart subcompact in an arena becomes a sentient vehicle. Tired of not be respected by autoduellists, it causes chaos. Rules from the article "Vampire Cars" from ADQ 9/3 could be modified for this scenario. :o)

Monday sees the launch of the XM42, which claims to be the first ever legally available portable flamethrower.
A nice handheld flamethrower? How handy. http://www.cnet.com/news/a-handheld-...certainly-sir/ cNet March 22 2015 Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2iD9iNfh0U |

After reading this article, there should be no more complaints regarding the $200 per rocket cost for tuning each rocket to be part of a LGL system. :o)
Navy Tests ‘Smart’ Helicopter Rocket Launchers http://defensetech.org/2014/04/09/na...cket-launchers Defense Tech April 9, 2014 The APKWS converts a 2.75-inch Hydra rocket into a “smart” munition by adding a semi-active laser guidance and control mid-section. It’s a low-cost option for precision strike, costing less than $30,000 apiece — roughly a third of the price tag of an AGM-114 Hellfire missile made by Lockheed Martin Corp.

This story is not about autoduelling technology being used in 2015, but it is about Hot Wheels, an item used by many car combat drivers of this forum.
Because many Car Wars players use Hot Wheels to play Car Wars, it should give a smile to autoduellists, especially about the special project being performed by Hot Wheels. Thousands of Hot Wheels pour in for Utah boy recovering from illness http://www.foxnews.com/health/2015/0...lized-utah-boy Fox News May 01, 2015

One of the biggest problems we have in creating the Car Wars universe is figuring out to handle roads. There's really no good way to maintain them in a post-apocalyptic setting. Keeping the existing highway infrastructure today is a daunting task, costing billions of dollars a year just to deal with everyday wear and tear -- to say nothing of the additional damage caused by mines, grenades, and the occasional stray bomb or cruise missile.
Except now, where a Dutch scientist may have solved the problem. Check it out.

A point of reference for gas engines:
The Indycar Engine 248 lbs, 134 cid, 675 horsepower, twin-turbocharged V6. Does not include a starter motor, accessory belt, etc. Replace the whole thing every 2500 miles. Perfect for dueling! :) |
