Default Tabletop Simulator Melee Kit to be released FREE during FnordCon

Hey all,

For all those who asked about the tutorial video I have been making. I created it with Tabletop Simulator. I have everything from Melee in it.

Steve Jackson himself told me today to go ahead and release it during FnordCon during the panel I am part of (8PM CST on Friday).

The kit for Melee itself is free, however you will need to buy Tabeltop Simulator. It is not expensive though at $19.

I will be adding a tutorial on how to use its features.

See you at the FnordCon panel!

A tutorial on tabletop simulator would be great!
I saw it earlier when looking for ways to do remote TFT gaming, but all the 3d assets in their video and steam ad put me off. ( I don’t *want* to “flip the table“!!) You’ve got it working really well with the 2d nature of Melee and I’d be very interested to know how you did it.

Where can I get the Melee add-on for TableTop Simulator?

A year later and no word on an asset pack for TTS? When obviously some lucky folks got one at FnordCon (so it exists)? Through the whole pandemic, when people were basically forced to stay home and forced to play games via Internet? Very poor show.

That's not fair. Licenses are a PITA to work out to protect intellectual rights.

Now I'm curious. What is PITA? And why does it affect SJG but not an entire industry of games? Just look at the official and workshop provided games @ Tabletop Simulator. It's by far not a sparse and rarefied selection of obscure products. If TFT was an IP sub-license, I'd get it. But this is SJ's own IP, not Lionsgate's or JK Rowling's.

(As an aside: Probably doesn't matter. The window of opportunity is probably closing in short order. I'm betting that in a few months the recoil to the quarantine will result in a vast number of computers gathering dust while folks go out and go hog wild in Reality-Reality, not Virtual Reality. You could make the argument that the new "habits" of gaming online will be sticky, or translate to playing face-to-face, but that's also an indoor activity. I'm looking back at the ape-sh*t stuff that went down at the commencement of the English Restoration. Like that.)

Figured PITA out. Thought is was IP Legalese.
