Necromancer Possession Allies
Hi, I'm thinking about the power for an Necromancer to animate some of the dead bodies lying around in a fight to fight for his side as zombies...
Is the best way to do it with possession? Or maybe with Dominance or something like that? Other idea? Normally possession needs a living conscious target. Could there be some "only on dead people" accessibility? Thus it would only work against the undead but not against the living. Would this be something like a +/- 0 trade-off? Probably one could design an accessibility limitation, I'd say something like -25% for the undead and something like +25% for "no humans", thus +0% would be fair. |

Re: Necromancer Possession Allies
True, that would be a good possibility, easier than I thought at first =)
But I was also searching for a way to directly command the Zombies "magically" so they have no choice other than doing what you want like with Possession, Mind Control or things like that... |

Re: Necromancer Possession Allies
give them minion and either IQ 0 or slave mentality (+0%), and possibly some kind of telepathy if you want to control them silently

Re: Necromancer Possession Allies
For directly controlled puppets, you can use Telekinesis with the Animation limitation from powers and an accessability limitation so that it only works on corpses. Compartmentalised Mind lets you control more than one, while Independent keeps them moving while you aren't concentrating.

Re: Necromancer Possession Allies
There's also the area effect enhancements for TK, which might let you animate a pile of corpses, but they'd likely have to shuffle around as a solid group.
Powers specifically allows Area Effect with TK (writeup of AE on Powers p 100)

Re: Necromancer Possession Allies
If the zombies obey the necromancer slavishly, they are Minions and have Slave Mentality and Reprogrammable. If you can control them like puppets, add Possession (Puppets Only) and Puppet Group.
Which would be even more awesome. Like zombie Voltron.

Re: Necromancer Possession Allies
.. perhaps "solid" wasn't the word I was looking for ;)
Although that's still awesome. What I was thinking was an animated-zombie parralel to a TK picking up a drawer full of silverware or the contents of a crate of nails with TK (AOE) - you'd get a diffuse cloud of nails/knifes and forks but they have to all do "the same thing" - they get lifted as "a hex full of ow", thrown as "a hex full of ow", etc, not "One knife for YOU, one knife for HIM, one fork tine to pick that lock, one spork in her EYE" etc. So, like that but with zombies. Like AOE on standard Mind Control.
