This post from AEG seems to be talking about some similar issues to what SJ Games is also dealing with.
Thanks for sharing that perspective.

I like the emphasis on being productive and having fun. I'm always intrigued by ideas that challenge the ingrained puritanical concept that everything must be balanced with a "cost."

Thanks, everyone, for the good comments. Thanks also for the pointer to the Alderac post.

Yes, it's a great time to be a gamer, but it's a hard time to be a game company.

Would it be possible to have a line on the report talking a bit more about how GURPS is faring?
It always worries me when there are only 2 GURPS entries on the Top 40 Products.
It is also good to see the company improving its Kickstarters, although as an international buyer, those international shippings are always a struggle.
Congrats for another year in the game and 40 years overall. :D

Glad to see SJGames made a profit in 2019, even if it was less than the Gross National Income of Japan.

I imagine after 40 years in business, SJGames has had to "recreate" itself several times as technology and the marketplace continue to change. It used to be when a man died, his grandchildren (assuming he lived long enough to see them) would be using the same types of tools his grandfather used the day he was born.

In terms of modern technology, the year 2000 is the "old days," and 1980 is "ancient history."

If we look at 2010, 2000, 1990, and 1980, we see very different times. The world has changed a lot in the last four decades.

Well, 3.
18 - Dungeon Fantasy Box Set
22 - GURPS characters
35 - Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2

I guess the CCG is dropped - it's not mentioned at all anywhere.

We're focusing on other projects while we figure out what we want to do with that line. We have more content written for it, so there's a chance you'll see more releases at some point.
