It's good to know that if you're making a phaser/disruptor which is going to vaporize someone that you need to generate ~3,000 megajoule reaction, which would mean 3+ GW batteries on those Star Trek blasters.

For what it is worth, they seem to have calculated the dry tissue part incorrectly. They used the calorie content from the complete combustion of dried pork - which is the energy you get from burning the dried tissue, not the input energy needed to turn it in to vapor.

You ought to be careful when discussing philosophy...

I could see that used as a cover up, for example in a oWOD Mage game, the grocery store being the location of a deal in view of mundanes that went awry and the rubber bullets being the explanation to not suffer from paradox.
