When we were playing a LOT of Star Fleet Battles, we did this for those 100+ internal hit resolutions. Our fix for the cherry pick your die roll was you rolled on physical dice the first internal, find the first instance of that number on the list and proceed from there using the pre-gen numbers.

I have had players provide me, the GM, with two lists of pre-generated numbers, one "roll high," one "roll low." Then, when the time comes, I take the next number on the list and cross it off. Not only did this speed things up, but it allowed me to fairly "have the players roll" in situations where that would be a giveaway -- Danger Sense, in particular. It also answered objections from my (notably superstitious) players that they could roll better numbers with their dice than I would with mine.
