Default Oversized weapons

I cannot seem to find any rule references for oversized weapons (say a giants two handed sword). Are there any references for this?

GURPS Fantasy has it.

Given Gigantism (SM +1) noting no penalty with tools or weapons of the character's species, you may want to waive up to a point's worth of SM difference for the penalty if a character becomes sufficiently familiar with whatever they're trying to use... or not, if you really want to emphasize the downsides of being a huge guy in a world built for everybody else.

Also, Dungeon Fantasy 3 has basic (not-meant-to-be-realistic, but serviceable) rules for scaling armor, weapons, and equipment smaller* on page 8; apparently Low-Tech Companion 2 (not out yet) will include more realistic scaling rules (what with having to worry about square-cube laws and all that).

* But you could reverse the tables pretty easily to scale larger as well.

Are there any guidelines for oversized/undersized weapons which would be used using different skills?

What I mean is that, yeah, I agree that there is some amount of difference between a SM +0 sword and a SM-1 sized sword. However, it seems somewhat reasonable (I think?) that normal sized short sword might be usable as broadsword for a smaller character.

thoughts?

This is perhaps the single most-asked question about GURPS rules!

I bet that when GURPS 5th edition will be published, "oversized weapons" rules will be in the Basic Set :)

Indeed. It pops up almost two times each week, and not without reason.

It should include them, even the Fourth edition Basic Set, but that was already discussed . . . in one of these same threads! :-)

It is indeed absolutely necessary for a fair share of GURPS campaigns. (or at least, it is far more necessary than lots of things that got in Basic Set and other books).

"Giant" creatures are very common in many genres (giant robots, fantasy giants, you name it).
Having universal rules for Strenght, Size, giant creatures and so on, is almost useless in 'actual play' if you don't know how to equip your Giant Ogre with a Giant Mace...
