Staff/Spear Skill Question

When wielding a staff and jabbing with the end are you using the Staff or Spear skill?

(I tried searching the forums but couldn't find an answer, nor in the rules)

Staff.

Well, you could use Spear if that's your higher skill, but Staff covers thrusts and swings. You can tell by looking at the Staff entry in the weapon tables.

However, you'd need Spear in order to use it one-handed.
