Default the sincerest form of flattery

So I was surfing around online a while ago, and stumbled across a set of rules for a post-apocalyptic RPG that looked like it might be interesting... the only problem was that it was in German. So I'm running it through Google Translate when I start to notice, "hey, this thing looks mightly familiar!" Apparently this fella took my GURPS Fallout doc, re-wrote the Fallout backstory and converted from GURPS to god only knows what system.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad or anything... As far as I'm concerned anybody and his mama can buy, sell, trade, fold, spindle or mutilate anything I've ever written... If anything I suppose I feel flattered, like I've finally hit the big time, haha.

That's the funniest thing I've heard in a few weeks at least.

I'm curious: how close was that to what you wrote after being run through two translations?

Congratulations!

The most common form of flattery any producer can get is that someone else considers their work. Whether they like your painting/essay/widget/concerto is another level of flattery and is, largely, secondary. That they would ingest it at all means that you wrote something that meant something to someone somewhere. A great thing indeed! That someone would see your fallout work and think it was worth the time to convert to german on their own time for the sake of the works merits is high praise indeed!

For the Record I've read your work and liked it myself. As english is my native language though, all I can do is translate it for my game :)
