Re: Ritual Path Magic for Dungeon Fantasy
Ooh, here's a crazy idea - what if I had sorcerors take reflexive on their magery? It wouldn't make them any faster, but it woul let them take non magic related actions while casting - like getting in a fight, for example.

Quote:
In my DF the sorcerer is a type of magic-user who doesn't learn spells, in the sense that he doesn't need to go a master/academy/scroll to get new spells. He "discovers" them just by meditating in his essence. The magic is more like an intuitive art rather than a science. He is the heir of a powerfull supernatural ancestor (such an angel, demon, or fae). This is the 0-level of Magery (Sorcerer) [40] Compartmentalized Mind [50]; Spell Only -5%, No mental separation -20%, Accesibility: Only when first compartment is not concentrating -10%) [33] + Magery 0 [5] + 2 Minor sorcery powers [2] This way he can make normal ("non-concentration") actions while casting, such as running, dodging, attacking, riding,... but he can't cast twice a round. For those interested this is the list of the rest of changes.
