Default Ending Combat

If I'm not mistaken the main combatant has control over the combat even if a helper enters. So if the main combatant is removed from combat in some way then combat should end and the helper has to run away automatically right?

We can't really answer hypotheticals such as this. If you have a specific card combination in mind, we can deal with that precise question in terms of what those cards say.

Well, say you invite a helper into a fight and then use a Teleportation Scroll to remove yourself from the room. Or say you're a really dirty.. I mean desperate.. munchkin and bribe a friend who is winning the game into joining a combat for the promise of all the treasure and then declare yourself dead (do this to one of your friends, the reaction is hilarious). Does the helper need to run away, does he get to finish the combat, or do the monsters just ignore him?

In the first case, using the TP Scroll counts as choosing to run away I think. So the normal rules for a helper having to run away when the main combatant decides to do so apply right? Just wondering what happens to the helper in these situations.

Hmm, brings up another question. But, before I get a talking to, I'll start another post.

The Teleportation Scroll case was discussed in a thread only a few lines below your post...

I expect if the main player decides himself dead, the same results would apply. The helper would be forced to run away (after taking a hit per monster for losing combat).

That's what I thought, just wanted it to be official. There's really not much clarification in the rules about what happens to the helper in combat if the combat ends prematurely and isn't resolved naturally by a win or loss due to the dice roll.

If the card doesn't say "ends combat" and it just removes a munchkin, combat would not be over for us.

Is there are card that removes a munchkin and states it ends combat? I'm not looking....lol....
