Yes. For Empire of the Necromancer-King, the summary says, "Zombies: Many types, slow and fast – all mindless undead servitors, none of them infectious." It then goes into more detail later.

In Gurps Zombies there's a zombie template that spreads by a memetic virus, but this idea is not mentioned anyhere else AFAIK.

Makes sense because it's very uncommon, but it's interesting. Not necessarily from the zombie genre angle, just cause the idea of memes being some kind of mindwarping, Lovecraftian supernatural thing is pretty neat.

A Toxic Meme supplement that focuses on this sort of magical, Lovecraftian horror-type memetics instead of semi-realistic memetics would be interesting.

Like in SCP-Foundation for example, memes can do anything, even warp reality. They've got memetic kill agents, a contagious language that erases the concept of rebellion as an invasive weapon, bunch of weird stuff.

Actually, the whisperers appear on p. 33 of this book, as part of the "Ultimate Zombie-Fighters" background.

I'm running a campaign set (sort of) in the Ravenloft setting, in the nation state of Darkon. There, an aloof and largely-absent king rules over a nation that irrationally fears undead... and the undead have stirred and are just beginning to come back in force.

The article on the Empire of the Necromancer King is extremely useful, and in fact directly answers several questions from my earliest threads on these boards, years ago.

A great read!
