Spinal Mount rules
When and where did spinal mounts get introduced? I have seen references to them but cannot find the rules anywhere.

Re: Spinal Mount rules
ADQ 10/4, I'm not sure it the rules were published in anywhere else.

Re: Spinal Mount rules
No need -- Cycles are immune to 1/3-spaces-limits.

Re: Spinal Mount rules
The article mentions vehicle, not car so you could use them with trikes and bikes (and presumably helos, boats and other exotica). I couldn't find anything in the ADQ&A stating otherwise.
You might have to do some reading across to decide which vehicle equates to each specified car (for example where a weapon has a hazard for firing). I suggest you use the turret table. Whether it is worth doing is another matter :) Not sure what your reference to Fixed Weapons meant? We use homebrew rules for fixed weapons on cycles, but I am unaware of any official ones. Re: Spinal Mount rules
Thanks Swordtart, I hadn't noticed that the article wasn't specific as to vehicle (with the size of the weapons I just assumed they were for cars and larger), I'll re-read the article properly with a rule lawyers eye :-)
In my defence I was distracted by the Rocket sidecar and Big Guns I was after squeezing a slightly smaller Fixed "big gun" onto a retro manual geared bike somehow by shaving a bit weight here, a bit of space there and have an amount of House Rules from the interweb Tinkering around with found House Rules I could have a Fixed RR for 150wt plus ammo, but still for 2 spaces alas, for example Always open to more House rules though, bikes have it tough! |

Re: Spinal Mount rules
There's a different auto-combat game out there which had a solution to the "bikes have it tough" problem: Most weapons and accessories had a "cycle version", which was ~1/2 the weight of the "car version", but also carried fewer rounds, or didn't quite have the range, or what-have-one (this prevented the cars using cycle components, and developing even-greater advantage).
