I'm on the opposite side, I really hope Pyramid finally dies & those resources get put into other projects, preferably GURPS projects, but whatever makes the SJG company float is fine with me. Pyramid has simply never been "it" for me. If there's going to be something for GURPS, please let it be focused.

You, as a GURPS writer, should double down on my post, not denigrate it. More GURPS, less PYR...stuff.

From an authors point of view Pyramid has several benefits.
It is a good start for new authors to get their feet wet and learn the ropes.
At one supplement a month the production que is limited so Pyramid gives more opportunity to write.
The format is good for short ideas that may not need a full supplement but would fit in a few pages.

The only real downside from Pyramid is that it is often hard to later find an article in your own library, much less for those who have not already gotten most or all of the Pyramid issues.

This isn't the place to discuss this.

Folks, please play nice in my thread. I'm the "owner" of this specific thread and would like to keep it polite, and ideally somewhat silly, fun, and lighthearted, as it was originally conceived. So, please don't make me use the considerable number of tools that being a moderator, super-moderator, and indeed administrator here gives me.

From the GURPS Line Editor's point of view, there has never been an author development/recruitment tool as valuable as Pyramid. Moreover, it was a great place to put system support that wasn't ever going to be long enough to fill even a 12-page PDF. Without it, it's hard to find and develop new writing talent, and many cool ideas end up either discarded as too short or overwritten just to make page count.

However, like everything, Pyramid requires resources, and we have only so many of those. My hope is that Volume 4 will square the circle here. We'll see.

Oh this is interesting...
From his Journal entry... " I consulted on not one but three external items. Rumor Control: Not new licenses – new channels. Still, it's great to see GURPS grabbing outside interest like this."

Guesses?
Mine are Munchkin and dangit forgot the other while typing!

Other ideas may be Forge or Roll20 getting official support but that does not feel right as "new channels".
Publishing has DriveThrough, Bundle of Holding, and Amazon, I doubt a new publisher/sales channel.
GURPS Autoduel would just be update of existing product.

So it's Steven we need to bribe...
