Peter expresses gratitude for the meal, and asks if they have something they can spare for Goliath, or he'll share his food with the great beast.

He decides to stay away from contemporary stuff, or anything that might be controversial, and he loves to sing the oldies that make his mother happy. He sings "Blackbird", "Yesterday" on a Beatles kick, and adds John Lenon's "Imagine." He will also sing some Billy Joel and see if they like "She's Always a Woman" and "For the Longest Time."

(He does not sing this song.)

They don't seem to understand the words, but appreciate his voice... and start teaching them some of their own. The song chosen is about coming home after a long journey away, and how home is missed.

Tar-Billik nods and spends a little power to get Goliath some food.

Tar-Billik shows Peter a bed he can use, and leaves a message for his people in his town: "We remember you. Hold on, and we will return. Parting makes the heart grow fonder"

Peter tries to learn the song...

He will be sociable and friendly and do his best to go a good guest.

When it comes time for bed, he tried to dream himself back to the world with the clockwork sky to make his report.

Peter dreams of a world with a clockwork sky... and of portals in it. Portals with the same rushing, draining effect on magic that he'd seen on the portal from the divine realm. The portal leads to a town that looks mildly familiar... to the town where he grew up*, but perhaps slightly different. Different shaped trees in front of the old historical buildings...

He wakes up in a field. The sun is just coming up. He can see a familiar old church steeple... he's within a mile of where his home should be. He can feel a portal spewing magical energy into this world. The portal seems to be in the wood, about half a mile away. Goliath is next to him.

*I know its in Massachusetts, did we give it a name?

The town of Burlington.

Peter glances about, taking in the sight of the not-quite-home place... He looks for something he might grab for his modesty and heads into the woods to check out the portal he feels. He considers checking out "his" house, but a thousand possible complications come to mind and he thinks better of it.

What time of day is it? Are there people about?

Its morning, perhaps 6:30 AM. He doesn't see anyone, but he hears cars on the other side of a tree line. He's in a corn field, and corn leaves are marginally better for modesty than typical leaves. The corn isn't obscuring his view yet, so it must be summer here.

He heads towards the portal. As he is in the woods headed towards the portal, a rough voice yells: "stop right there! Where are you going!"

Peter takes a quick glance to see if he can identify the source of the voice and breaks into a sprint to get away.

"Sorry if I'm trespassing... I'm leaving!"

He looks over his shoulder and sees a man in full camouflage with a helmet and gun. The man is chasing, but not pointing his riffle at Peter.

If the man does not call out again, he will try and outpace and lose him.

Peter easily outruns the encumbered man. The soldier calls out "Hey, come back!", but mostly gives up.
