Default Dungeon Fantasy Box set

So back when I was coming back I decided to go with the full version of GURPS and was having a ton of frustration with a dearth of examples and huge amount of work needed for a GM.

I was quickly reaching a point of daily frustration. However when I mentioned coming back someone (Turhan's Bey Company) suggested I should look into Dungeon Fantasy (powered by GURPS). After getting the Companion 2, I decided to grab the full box set for a $80 price tag.

Holy smokes, this has almost everything I was wanting and complaining about addressed already. The layout is a cleaner two column layout, the options are cleaned up, and all the example monsters in the book give me a great sense of scale.

Having said that I do have a couple complaints/suggestions.
1) Only two example characters.
2) No way to just by the Adventurer book and Magic book separately for my players.

We are rebuilding the original GURPS characters using just the Dungeon Fantasy options and other than that this is great.
I have chosen a few house rules for simplicity on the players.
1) All non-magical skills use the Average price column.
2) Skills that allow defaults will all use Characteristic -4.
3) Lumping turns into 3 or 4 seconds to fit naratives.

Neither of those are big deals and really would not be needed at all for adults, but they make the game more approachable for the 10 and 13 year old's at the table.

Delvers to Go has 13 pregens. It comes with the GM's screen.

Absolutely! Dungeon Fantasy ia the recipe for all us to get our cake and eat it too! The universally adaptative and complete rules and options of GURPS with the packaged and focused game that Dungeon Fantasy is.

I would like more of DF style games; Madness Dossier, Reign of Steel, Transhuman Space, International Super Teams, The Phoenix Project...

Phil already pointed out that books are available on demand. As for example characters, the Dungeon Fantasy GM screen, includes a Character Creation Cheat booklet (loads of look up tables reproduced) and the Delvers to Go booklet describing another 13 starting characters.

They only caveat I would have about your first house rule is that if a player wants to create a character using a template, it will screw up the costs. This is not a problem unless players are focused on point values.

You may also be interested in Gaming Ballistic's Delvers to Grow series, which presents a modular character generation system for a range of starting point values.

Awesome, thanks for the link I will grab that with the 13 pregens. As I go I will look into the other stuff.

So much cool stuff, and that I can mix with the full gurps is extra awesome.

PS: None of us are that worked up about perfect balance. So anyone who cares gets the option too adjust any missing points.

Oh, sorry about posting in wrong forum. I did not realize Dungeon Fantasy gets its own.
