Fit, Very Fit, or add Fatigue Recovery to the existing Regeneration?

Is it bad that I've always preferred substituting the throwing distance calculation instead of the jumping one for high ST characters?

I do not think that there is much with a ST 50 in nature, and nothing with SM 0 should have a ST 50. The problem is that, with a BL of 500 lbs, they could carry around 5 cm carbon composite armor without effort, giving them a DR of around 200, which would make them practically invulnerable.

Aren't their rules for super strong characters jumping great distances?

If BL is greater than character weight, they can use ST/4, rounded down, as if it was Basic Move in jumping distance calculations. A ST 50 man would have an effective Basic Move of 12. High Jump would be 62" while Broad Jump would be 21'.

They're only getting access to the best protective gear available at TL8 and that's only DR in the mid 30's from what I saw in High-Tech. Besides, a lot of the mission parameters I'm thinking they'll be on will require them to blend in with the mundanes.

I really do think that a ST 50 is excessive. If you want to make them superhuman without making things too imbalanced, I would suggest giving them Enhanced Muscle 40 (effectively Striking ST 40 and Lifting ST 40) with Cardiac Stress, every second, -50% and Unsupported Strength, -25% [80]. Your characters would have to balance the satisfaction of using their superhuman strength with the risks associated with it.

Bio-Tech, a book you really should take a look at.
