Handling Paralysis in TFT:ITL
In searching the TFT:ITL book, I only find one reference to paralysis (on page 97) that is only in regards to the sense of smell.
Are there any other effects that mimic paralysis? And, are there any abilities that might remove the effects of paralysis? Asking because I like the idea of a giant insect that might have a poison bite that paralyzes its foe. Or, a DnD-style ghoul that paralyzes those it hits. |

Re: Handling Paralysis in TFT:ITL
The way I do it is the same as the Freeze spell, but I give Paralysis 1d6 turns instead of Freeze's 2d6.
How to cure it depends on the type of pathogen. Is it poison or a disease or magic that is causing paralysis? For disease: Cleansing spell (IQ 17). For poison: Universal Antidote potion. For magic, usually Remove Thrown spell (IQ 14) unless it is stronger like a curse then Dissolve Enchantment (IQ 17) will work. And there are magic items too. |

Re: Handling Paralysis in TFT:ITL
You can get a lot of mileage out of the time a victim remains paralyzed, which could range from seconds to a minute for something like the Freeze spell, to hours or days from other causes. Durations of under a minute are likely to only have consequences to an immediate encounter—combat, removal of a sought after artifact, etc. Longer periods of effect can create logistical problems for the players that might require creative solutions.
Consider a roll to resist which, if successful, mitigates paralysis by either making it shorter in duration or lessens full paralysis to only a penalty against MA and any or all attributes. |

Consider taking a look at Hexagram 5 which features Howard Kislter’s ideas about paralytic (and other) poisons.

Note that the gelatinous cube in Old School Monsters has a paralyzing attack which lasts for two turns.
