Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Supporting Character: Jimmy Olsen
Aliases: James Olsen Affiliations: Superman Enemies: Enemies of Superman Thanks to a moderate trust fund from his wealthy but distant parents, Jimmy Olsen was able to move into the city at the age of 18 and get his own apartment, despite working for almost no pay as an intern and cub reporter at the Daily Planet. Fortunately, the Planet became a second family to Jimmy, and he was able to use his talents to rise up to become a respected photojournalist, contributing pictures worth a thousand words to stories by world-renowned journalists like Lois Lane and Jimmy's best friend, Clark Kent. Eventually, after countless rescues, Clark Kent took his best friend into his confidence, making Jimmy Olsen one of only a handful of people who knows Superman's secret identity. Unfortunately, several of Superman's villains have noticed that Superman seems to care about this young photographer almost as much as he does for that woman-reporter he's always saving. This makes Jimmy a prime target whenever someone wants to get to the man of steel. To help keep Jimmy safe, Superman gave him a watch that emits a sound that only a Kryptonian (or similar) can hear, allowing him to summon Superman from a great distance. Quote:

What's up with her at this point? Any compelling reason to exclude her (aside from very poorly defined powers?)

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Racial Template: Kryptonian
Kryptonian (2713 points) This template represents survivors of the destroyed planet Krypton. In a solar system with a red giant (like Kryton's), treat Kryptonians as normal humans in every way. This template represents a Kryptonian on an Earth-like planet with a yellow dwarf star. It can take days or years to manifest these powers under a yellow sun, depending largely on your age (the younger you are, the slower your powers emerge. All powers have the Kryptonian power modifier (see below). Individual Kryptonians may have increased the level and power of any of these racial abilities, either through practice or increased time absorbing the energy of a yellow sun. Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Power Modifier: Kryptonian -10%
This is a specific case of the broader "Alien" power modifier. It is susceptable to Anti-Powers (Neutralize, Static, etc...) from any the Super, Alien, or Kryptonian power modifiers* (-5%). It is also susceptable to Countermeasures that will work for anyone (-5%). These countermeasures are: Red Sunlight (which may be artificially created at TL 10 or by a sufficiently skilled Gadgeteer), and various gadgets incorporating kryptonite**. *The susceptability to multiple anti-powers is a special effect and is balanced out by the relative rarity and expense of the countermeasures.

When Teen Titans v3 came out after Titans v1 and Young Justice v1 were cancelled (in "Titans/Young Justice: Graduation Day"), one of the first plotlines for Tim Drake's first team of Teen Titans was to resurrect Raven. I've been working on some pre-Graduation Day notes. Hope they help.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Update:
I've edited my posts to present new versions of Power Girl (Updated her powers) Superman (Updated Powers and added Contact Group (Star Labs) and Farming) and Lois Lane (added Guns skills and Languages) Notable Kryptonian power changes: Altered Time Rate now cost Fatigue--this was necessary, I thought, to explain the fact that Superman doesn't use his Superspeed in every moment of every fight. I've added some limited Imbuements so that Kryptonian Super Strength is more versatile in combat and to better simulate comic book fights. I've increased DR so that a Kryptonian could survive an average punch from a Kryptonian. I'll probably increase these more before I'm completely done here. Changes to the innate attacks --All Out, Requires Ready, and costs fatigue to show how Superman usually stops whatever he's doing to use them. Increased their power and added an armor divisor to Heat Vision.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Material: Kryptonite
Contrary to popular belief, Kryptonite is not a single element or compound.* Kryptonite is a blanket term to describe rocks and minerals from the planet Krypton, which were irradiated and transformed during the planet's explosion. Crystals and Gemstones from deep in Kryton's crust were the most common minerals to survive the explosion and were the best at absorbing this radiation, but some other rocks and metals became Kryptonite as well. (Metallic Kryptonite, though rare, is especially useful for creating gadgets--see below). Kryptonite is radioactive (somewhere in the same ballpark as Radium), and prolonged exposure is therefore harmful to humans. To Kryptonians, on the other hand, Kryptonite is deadly, it's mere presence causes them to weaken and eventually die. Kryptonite radiation, like Kryptonians own Penetrating vision, is completely blocked by pure lead. Kryptonite on earth is very rare. However, Lex Luthor has developed a method for producing Synthetic Kryptonite with all of the same properties, albeit at great expense. Acquiring Kryptonite in game should always be an adventure, rather than a simple purchase. You can steal it from a museum, you can do a favor for Lex Luthor, you can break into the Batcave, you can go on an archaeological quest to find the glowing green dragon statue allegedly owned by the first Emporer of Atlantis, but you can't simply buy Kryptonite with money on Amazon. Gadgeteers (such as Lex Luthor) have been able to develop a number of gadgets involving Kryptonite, from Lazers to Lipsticks. Some have even developed new varieties of Kryptonite that can have a variety of different effects on Kryptonians. The main benefit of incorporating Kryptonite into your gadget is that it will all you to bypass a Kryptonians resistances and defenses. *To be clear, this is my own interpretation, not canon.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Villain: Lex Luthor
Aliases: Alexander Luthor, Mockingbird Affiliations: Legion of Doom, The Secret Society (of Supervillains), The Secret Six, JLA. Lex Luthor grew up in a mansion outside Smallville, Kansas. He was heir to a small fortune, which he rapidly turned into a massive fortune through a combination of scientific genius and ruthless business practices. Now he's the majority shareholder and CEO of LexCorp, one of the world's largest and richest international mega-corporations. His main offices and home are in Metropolis where he owns, directly or by proxy, most of the buildings and most of the businesses. By his own estimate, two thirds of the people of Metropolis work for him "whether they know it or not." He has an unquenchable thirst for power and the natural gifts to get that power. Two things tend to get in his way--the determination of several journalists at the editorial staff of the Daily Planet to expose his criminal activities, and the intervention of the Superman Family in his more supervillainous activities. Superman, in particular, is a thorn in Luthor's side. The Man of Steel represents a power even greater than his own, a moral code Lex finds infantile and naive, and is the only being who regularly makes Lex feels inferior. This is not a feeling Lex Luthor tolerates. Lex Luthor prefers to work behind the scenes, shielded from prosectution by layers of plausible deniability and a world-class legal team. Often when Luthor is behind a scheme to kill Superman or claim power for himself, nobody even knows it and those who do can't prove it. But if you find yourself wondering why Metropolis has so many beings who can challenge the god-like power of the Kryptonian (Metallo, Cyborg Superman, etc...) Lex Luthor is usually that reason. In those rare occasions when Luthor must confront a threat himself, he comes prepared with extremely powerful gadgets of his own invention. Armed with a new variety of Kryptonite or his famous "Warsuit" Luthor can go toe-to-toe with some of Earth's most powerful heroes. By most reckonings, Lex Luthor is the smartest living human being. He's also one of the human races greatest tragedies. As he's proven in times of great crisis and in countless alternate timelines, Lex Luthor could have been one of our greatest heroes instead of one of its greatest villains. Quote:
