Re: (IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]
Rajat is three feet from the window
Increasing ST to 12 would change the penalty from -4 to -3 (from extra heavy to heavy encumbrance) Yes, move and attack is appropriate here, as is the extra effort version that doesn't give -4. No need to explicitly slam. If you put Rajat through the window without going through yourself that removes the encumbrance penalty from DX Serindipity... Easiest way to use serindipity is to declare a bigger window, I suppose. That could give a +4 on all the rolls to get through it... in which case Leon make is through his window, and then Peter gets a chance to take Rajat through that window with the "grab and move plan"

If he can get get them both out with extra effort and we need serendipity to do it, let's go ahead...

Re: (IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]
Ok, so:
1 FP for Heroic Charge 1 FP for extra effort (+50% basic lift) Extra Effort: Will - 5 (+50% basic lift) vs 7... success! Grab: DX + 4 (Telegraphic) vs 8 ... success! DX through Window: DX + 4 (window size) -3 (encumbrance) vs 11 ... success! Peter grabs Rajat and pulls him through the window, removing him from the sight of the enemy mages. They move to the window themselves, but Rajat has recovered from his stun and starts running with Peter through the village.

Re: (IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]
Peter an Rajat scramble to their feet and sprint to catch up to the others and regroup to try and get out of sight and make their way out of town.

Re: (IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]
Ok, I think we're in a chase scene now. Peter is headed out of the village... is the goal to hide in the woods or in the fields of tall grain?
Range is short. Peter's move bonus is +2, as is Rajat's. Peter will be rolling against DX for the chase rolls (11). Their chaser's first maneuver is for two of them to mount their horses (so they don't get to roll), but one of them keeps chasing you on foot. First round the Guy on food stays at short, but the guys on horses drop to medium range as they get on. (assuming Peter, Rajat, and Leon take a simple move manuever).

Re: (IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]
Peter will evade him as best he can. He is hoping to get out of sight of the men on horses and lose the guy on foot, but if not, he resorts to magic. If his pursuer catches him, he will use the Voice on the man.

Re: (IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]
Second round:
All three groups take move. The horsemen have a +4 because of the speed of the horses. The horsemen win by 4, and close the distance to short. The guy on foot stays at short. Third Round: Peter takes move and attack, but is using the voice. His roll is at -2, but he gets to use the voice. The horsemen stay at short distance. The guy on foot gets hit by the command. You roll a 9, him a 15, and he stops and drops out of view. Fourth Round: will Peter use his voice again? at the end of the fifth round he and Rajat will make it to the forest, which gives some additional advantages but doesn't necessarily end the chase.

Re: (IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]
Spoiler:
I am keeping the the same criteria... Peter is running and evading and hoping the group can lose them, but will use his Voice on any pursuer who catches him. He will likely use if if anyone else is caught as well, but it depends on the distance, as it has a distance penalty. As for the previous question of if they were headed to the woods or tall grain fields, If I had my choice, they would head for the grain to regroup and get out of there, but Peter is LAST in the running order... So it's the choice of whoever's first, really. |

Yes, they're quite different. Chase rules show up in a bunch of places, but Action 2 is the first place. I apologize. I'm accustomed to you having pretty much rules mastery. Chase rounds are an abstract length, but "Not more than a minute". I'll figure out how to handle this. Give me a bit, if you will.

Re: (IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]
I'm super solid with character creation and advanced combat... but I don't own ALL the GURPS.
It doesn't mean we can't use it, I just need an idea if there are things I need to know. |
