Default The cost of Armor

Hello Hivemind

I have finally persuaded my group to try out DFRPG. And then one of my players ask me why armor cost so much more in DFRPG compared to regular GURPS.

Does anyone know the answer?

Thanks in advance

Armor in the DFRPG is based on the revised armor stats in GURPS Low-Tech, which are generally regarded at more realistic, rather than the original stats in the Basic Set.

I believe it's using Low-Tech for prices and weights. Note that, for example, a DR 6 plate body armor is $2,625 and 21 lb in DF, vs $1,300 and 35 lb in Basic.
