I don't get what he's counting down to until I'm diving on zero. Hopefully diving to a submarine is easier than diving for fish. All I got then was wet.

Halcyone jumps through the open portal and plunges 3 yards into an oncoming wave. She is surrounded by enough stuff and positioned correctly for such a jump, and so just gets tumbled a little in the water.



V steps through the portal right on cue, dropping one yard onto the tip of the wave, and then beneath it. The portal shuts behind V. V thinks they get a glimpse of a lifted tentacle off in the distance, and a couple of boats on top of the waves.



Under the water, things are calmer, though fairly dark. Perhaps you see a light, way down in the depths?

Hm. I don't suppose I can see any better with the infantry helmet's IR.

"I say we check out the pretty light down there. What say you?"

Vassarious shifts using basic dolphin sonar, letting out little clicks... V sees the shape of the submarine mounting the light they are heading for.



As they go deeper, the commotion of the waves subsides, and the surrounding sea gets deeper. The lights on the submarine blink three times in acknowledgement of you. The craft isn't moving right now.

Vassarious heads for the sub and flashes with bioluminessence in response.

They make their way to the waterlock in the side of the submarine. A diver with a pistol and sword is waiting for them, and helps them into the chamber. As it drains, the submarine begins to shudder as its screw starts turning again.


the diver pulls off his gear as the water is pumped out: "Silestro says you're with his people, not one of the demons. Did you bring clean clothing, or do we need to send a man to get it for you?"


"Selestro says you're good hunters. He also says we've got a shapeshifting demon on board. Somewhere."

I switch from air tank to ship air.
"My wet suit is my armor. I suppose you would prefer if I towelled off."

Silestro, that's a new name. "I take it Silestro is somebody Corco sent earlier."
