6a, it it includes luck based powers to reflect the luckiniess/unluckiness of cats, and maybe extra life for cats having nine lives.

Could someone explain the difference between 6a and 1? I'm not seeing one

6a is a refinement of 1. 1 is "They have Advantages that are noted as magical, and may or may not have Magical -10%." 6a is "They specifically have cat-themed Advantages that are noted as magical," with no suggestion of if Magical -10% is appropriate (honestly, that's more a setting question - Magical -10% means it's shutdown by anti-magic, no mana zones, etc, but if those don't exist in the setting - I can't recall if we discussed those yet or not - Magical isn't a legitimate Limitation).

1 would allow _any_ sort of Powers and I didn't want Nekos who could shoot fireballs as a normal thing.

I vote for #1 and #6a.

Poll remains open. As suggested earlier, I think I'm more likely to have a new Question after Xmas than before. Also, for those celebrating or wanting to:

Happy Holidays!

Nekomimi Question IVa

Another essayish Question. Please make a template for the set of powers you think the Nekomimi ought to have (or 'sets' if you think they have different groups, e.g. sex-linked, significant changes over life, tribal or role-based, et cetra). Late this week or early next year, I'll post Question IVb, where you can vote for which poster's ideas you prefer.

In case it wasn't obvious, 'early next year' above was a joke based on when in the year we are.

So far, I have not been able to come up with a good power template to offer, but this is what I have so far (and I might edit this post later if I manage to make it less vague):

Some sort of Affliction or Innate Attack with Follow-up (Sharp Claws) and Affects Insubstantial [level and cost uncertain].

Night Vision (Magic, -10%) at some level, adding to existing Night Vision [cost uncertain].

See Invisible (Spirits; Magic, -10%) [14] or Medium (Visual, +50%; Magic, -10%) [14].

Spirit Empathy (Magic, -10%) [9].

OK, I have two other ideas for power sets, and this one appears to be more ready (which isn't nearly the same as 'fully statted out,' sorry). Probably the next one tomorrow and the Question on Monday, unless Real Life requires other stuff (or I'm hung over).

Speak with Cats.

Cat Possession (or other feline mind control/influence).

Ally Group (cats).

Nature-focused stealth magic (e.g. Obscure or Chameleon+Silence, environmentally limited either way).

leveled Shapeshifting (Alternate Forms or limited Morph that gets less restrictive at higher levels), with most folk only going up to 'tougher, more agile, and maybe a bit furry,' but high levels can turn all the way into 'cat with caster's intellect' (possibly more than one path, some going for big cats, some to small cats, some both).

Black Haired Nekos afflict people with Unluckiness, and really powerful ones can afflict Cursed! Calico Haired Nekos can afflict people with Serendipity. Some Nekos can make it through nearly any gap with Double Jointed and Stretching as Cats are Liquid. Stealthy Nekos might have Obscure, Invisibility or Silence to melt into nothing. More physical Nekos may have ST without HP, Striker, or add modifiers to claws. Some Nekos have supernatural Charisma or even vision or hearing based Mind Control.
